Building Virtual Communities on Linkedin-J.D. Gershbein-Breakthrough Business Strategies Radio
Social Media was born out of the basic human need to connect with others and be a part of a community
LinkedIn, the largest professional network in the world, allows users the opportunity to build and develop tightly-knit business relationships that can be leveraged for real-world gain. LinkedIn is not merely a virtual Rolodex, or a static directory of contacts. Your mission is to invite people to connect, create touch points with your connections, and ideally, move the relationship forward. Through artful and diplomatic communication on LinkedIn, you can ultimately identify prospects for your products or services, sell or market your products or services directly, cultivate referral sources, and gain favorable introductions to potential clients.
Many business owners are wondering how do I create this community and caring mindset as that was not something that they were taught nor welcomed in the business world they have participating in for the past 30 years. Monday, August 2 at 12pm ET, 11am CT 10am MT 9am PT, J.D. and Michele will dig down into that topic so that when you listen you walk away with actionable strategies to build a stronger virtual community inside Linkedin.

Bring your pencils and notepads this will be a write it down kinda interview, we promise!
Every week you have the opportunity of where you spend your time online and in creating your business network connections.
Are you working with a strategy so that you are staying focused and using your time wisely?
There are some pretty common questions that come up for all business owners, regardless of their industry. You are not alone in feeling overwhelmed, heck this is not our default mode of communication. It is a new skill which requires new training and mindset to carry it off successfully. So take a deep breath then take a second and thoughtfully ask yourself the questions below and realize that there are answers when you know more about where you are stuck and need help.
You are invited to ask yourself and your colleagues, staff and friends the same questions. The more everyone around you is going in the same direction then the more successful you ALL will be. That is how you can support each other and if this economic climate has given us a gift it is to turn back into our local communities and start to ask how can we help each other.
Here is a quick test to see if you need assistance with your social media strategy
Do you feel there is not enough time in a day to do social Media
- Do you feel you are behind the eight ball each week
- Do you sit down at the computer and ask yourself, now what do I do first?
- Do you wonder if your results what they should or could be?
- When you log into Linkedin, Facebook or even Twitter if you feel on any level “this might be a waste of time”
- Do you ever say to yourself, “I know I need to be here but heck if I know what to do”
- Do you post a lot on Facebook and wonder if anyone is even reading it?
Now, if what you are wanting to achieve is to grow your business, direct more traffic either online or offline into your business and you want to be able to accomplish that without pulling your hair out then you will want to think about a couple of things.
- Do I have the manpower to implement social media?
- Do I have a social media policy for my business?
- Do I have social media guidelines so that each person knows what is the next step including you?
- Do I know how to handle it when someone talks badly about my business online?
- Are you on all the channels and monitoring your business online?
- Are you monitoring your competition online?
These are just a small percentage of questions that are staring you in the face this year. You owe it to yourself and your business to either learn and create your own social media strategy, or hire someone to do it for you. You do not want to be behind the eight ball like Motrin or Nestle trying to clean up a PR nightmare because you were not prepared. Learn from bif businesses mistakes and you will position your business for success in this new business economy.
Can you see the patterns yet?
We are in a different economic climate. Traditional Sales & Marketing have not worked for while, that’s where a lot of decline in business originated from…dissatisfaction is not what you want your customers/clients to feel about your business. Stop and think about one of your unsatisfactory experiences with a business this past year. Now did they give you the same old “that’s our company policy” VS do something to correct issue? Here is where you have leverage to beat the big boys and grow your business.
Creating a strong and loyal online presence is critical to your business today.
Join us as J.D. and Michele talk about how to be gracefully creating these communities. They will be focusing their energy on this show towards Linkedin. Your questions about other social networks are welcome, email them to Michele thebreakthroughspeicalist@gmail.com and she will create a show to address your needs.
