People Who Make a Difference and a Profit

Brian Williams
Friend and colleague Brian Williams (follow him on twitter) is great about telling me about people he knows I would like to connect with, gotta love him.
When you are asked who is your ideal client, what is your response? Mine is…”A Spirit based Entrepreneur who makes a difference and a profit”.

Missy Ward Spirit Based Entrepreneur Making Difference & Profit
What does that look like? Here is one example (I will bringing you many more to come as yesterday in a tweetup I realized that these words mean something different to everyone).
Missy Ward co-founder of Affiliate Summit has created a Charity Poker Game at Affiliate Summit West 2010 that is benefiting National Breast Cancer Foundation.

National Breast Cancer Foundation
Here is what I see and know…Missy if a straight talking entrepreneur that has create a way to support both making a difference and a profit. She supports a cause important to her and builds a successful business. You can too! Does it have to be something this big, no! It could be as simple as giving 10% to a cause that is close to your heart…whether it is educational, health charity, green environment…the choices are only limited by your thinking.
Not sure how to do this? Look at who has done it successfully and ask them how they learned and waht their best practices are now. People love to contribute and share, give them the opportunity.
Reach out, connect, tweet and ask…it gives others a chance to help you too.
If you are attending Affiliate Summit make sure you say “Hello to Brian Williams, Missy Ward and Shawn Collins” (Oh, please say hello to Jim Kukral (he was on my radio show earlier this year).
Make sure you are thinking about who you want to meet and how you can help others build their network. Be a Go-Giver, it’s great business karma.
Missy Ward is some one who makes a difference and a profit.

Thanks for taking the time to write about the importance of giving back. A couple of years ago I started http://www.affiliatemarketersgiveback.com as a way of rallying the affiliate marketing industry to help out with my breast cancer fundraising efforts. To date, we’ve raised nearly $150,000.00 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. I can’t thank all of the folks who have helped with this effort enough. It makes me very proud to be associated with such wonderful people in the affiliate marketing industry.
I look forward to connecting with you in the future!
Thanks for the mention – in addition to the poker tournament, we have a sponsorship for the staff shirts at Affiliate Summit - http://www.affiliatesummit.com/10w-exhibitors/#staff_shirt – where the full cost ($7500) of the sponsorship goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Great advice in your post!
